Welcome to The Vaults

Set in the oldest town in Wales, Carmarthen, The Vaults is part of a unique history of its own dating back to the 17th/18th century. Though it has be known by many names, The Vaults or Angel Vaults as once known, is where this stylish and unique Bar gets its history from.

In 1983 a medieval window was discovered in its interior structure, dating back to the late 15th to early 16th century, the window is said to be one of The lost church of St Mary. The Vaults overlooks the site of the medieval market Place, Nott Square, which is name after Major-General Sir William Nott.

Located to the right side of the vaults is Carmarthen Castle, an important landmark during the War of the Roses. The Vaults offers beautiful views from its famous castle room of the Castles exterior.

The Vault’s history goes hand in hand with this famous towns history and it is thought that The Vaults or Angel Vaults is the oldest known public house in the town.
